ISTANBUL STREET
& STORYTELLING
WORKSHOP
Dates
From 15th to 22nd of October 2022
Byzantium, Constantinople, Istanbul. It’s the only city to have been the capital of two great empires (Greek and Roman) and is unique in that it straddles the continents of Europe and Asia making it quite literally the meeting place of east and west.
It’s an urban cultural center rich with the incandescence of its past. A melting pot of old and new from its minarets and contemporary art galleries, to the bazars and trendy cafés, traditional crafts and designer clothing, not to forget the Hammams and night clubs…
But what is most appealing about the city are its people who have an infectious love of life and generosity of spirit. It’s no wonder that Istanbul has enthralled Alex Webb since 1998, and it’s right here in this vibrant city where we will be teaching you how to take your street and storytelling skills to the next level!
Renown Spanish photographer, resident teacher and co-founder of Raw Photo Tours, Jorge has over 15 years of experience in photography and an innate ability for teaching. He’s been published in several local and international magazines, including National Geographic, Ijsberg Magazine, La Vanguardia, Publico, Fisheye Magazine to name a few.
His photographs have also been exhibited in El Colegio de Periodistas and Lomography Embassy in Barcelona, Lensculture Berlin 2017, The Independant Photographer Berlin 2018 and is currently working on the publication of two books of his works in Cuba and Morocco.
“Everything is thought out and organized so that the only thing I had to do was think about photography. If I had a problem or question in the field, the Raw Society was there to answer and help on the spot. The locations were scouted in advance and the programming was streamlined so that the good light was available. Each photographer had free reign to learn as much or as little as they chose. And, the workshop was just over-the-top, FUN!”
